Defining Asset Permissions

Access to assets in the Asset Library is controlled by the settings in the Permissions section for the folder or file. The groups who have access to the asset are listed and the permissions are shown for each group.

Editing permissions

    1. To access these settings, go to Permissions and click Edit.

2.   In the Edit Permissions dialog, add or remove groups and select the permissions for each group.

3.   To add a or remove a group, click the Add or Remove Groups link.

4.   In the Select Groups dialog, select groups from the list to add them, or click on the x next to their name to clear them.

5.   Click OK to save your changes.

6.   Add or remove permissions for each newly added group by selecting or clearing permission checkboxes as needed.

Below is a table for folder and file permissions.

Note: These permissions work in conjunction with the status on the asset’s type and with the group’s right to access the library. For more information, contact an administrator.

Folders

View a folder and its contents. Includes viewing thumbnails, file images, attributes, and properties for files and versions.
Note: The View Contents flag gives rights to view new assets, not existing ones.

Add new contents into a folder, including adding new sub-folders, uploading files, and choosing files and folders in a Manual Transfer to Library task.
